Schuyler Faustin

Humanities Teacher

 Schuyler Faustin( affectionately named Sky) is a Humanities/ELA teacher for 8th grade students. He was inspired to become a teacher after years of working at the American Museum of Natural History and working with school groups.. Ms. Faustin earned her bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from the first HBCU, Lincoln University, his  master's degree was earned in Students with Disabilities from Pace University. Mr. Faustin  joined Village Academy Middle School in Far Rockaway, Queens, as a Humanities teacher in 2015. Mr. Faustin believes that students should learn holistically, from all different forums. He is best known for his ability to motivate students and his eagerness to teach History and its implications in today’s society. He is a Brooklyn native and longtime resident of Far Rockaway. It is not out f the ordinary to see him active in the community as he is often present at Redfern Cornerstone and The PAL(Sorrentino). Mr. Faustin is fluent in French, Haitian Kreyol, and proficient in Spanish. He attributes many different cultures in influencing his upbringing but none about his Haitian heritage. His favorite quote is “ “It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.”
