Mrs. Giron aka Ms.Cruz, has been teaching Math for 6th grade at Village Academy for 7 years. She has experience working with the ENL population from 6th to 8th Grade. Mrs. Giron earned her first degree in Bachelor of Arts in Psychology/Childhood Education from York College,Queens NY and second degree in Masters of Art in School Building Leadership from Mercy College, Dobbs Ferry NY , while completing a District Internship in FSC in Far Rockaway.  Prior to becoming a teacher Mrs.Giron used to work as a Summer Camp Counselor for After- School All-Stars CampUS at St. John’s University for students between the ages of 7-13 from all Five Boroughs in NYC. She, then moved on to become Assistant Supervisor for the After-School All-Stars through St. John’s University at PS.86 in Jamaica,NY from 2012-2014. Prior to working At VA Mrs. Giron was a Substitute Teacher & 2nd Grade Teacher at PS. 376K in Brooklyn, NY for 2 years from 2012- 2013. Taking a short break from teaching Ms. Giron worked  in Corporate at Haier America as a Site Management Receptionist. While earning her Medical Assistant Degree from the Allen School of Health Sciences in 2014. Mrs. Giron had a brief internship in the Medical field through Quest Diagnostics & Medical Practice as a Medical Assistant in Manhattan from 2013 -2014.

Mrs. Giron is a very friendly, caring and lovable individual. She is happily married and resides in Long Island with her husband and dog macho. Her favorite color is blue and she enjoys reading books, watching netflix, traveling around the world, baking sweets for her family & swimming during the summer. Her favorite quote is “Their is a star in the sky with your name on it. Don’t let anyone ever tell you can’t accomplish your dreams and always reach for the stars.
