Judith Jackson
Humanities Teacher
Hi, my name is Judith Jackson and I was born in Jamaica West Indies, and grew up in Miami, Florida. I am a wife and a mother of two beautiful children. I started my teaching career in Brownsville, Brooklyn, as a Read 180 Teacher. My hobbies include travelling, cooking and gardening. I attended Cambridge College, where I received my Master of Education and Brooklyn College, where I received my Master of Science in Literacy. In 2009, I received New York State Assembly Citation which highlighted my teaching achievements.
In 2016, I joined Village Academy as an 8th grade ELA Teacher, in Far Rockaway, Queens. I believe it is important to tap into my students’ knowledge and build on what they already bring to the classroom. It is essential to acknowledge their experiences and facilitate occasions for them to build on. One of my favorite motto is “Greatness will prevail!”
