Dear Village Academy Scholar,

Congratulations on completing another academic school year. You are one step closer on your journey on the “Path to Success.”  It is important that you continue to make academic progress over the summer months. To prevent summer learning loss, we created online learning opportunities in reading and math for you to engage in while at home.  If you do not have access to the internet you can use computers at your local library.

All completed assignments are due on Monday, September 9, 2019 and will be your first graded assignment for the marking period.

i-Ready Challenge:

You must use I-Ready for a minimum of 225 minutes in Math and 225 minutes in Reading per week, (This equals a total of 90 minutes per day for 5 days each week.)  Your goal should be to pass 3 to 4 lesson per week which will pass demonstrate that you have mastered a standard/skill.  Use your same log-in information for I-Ready that they used during the school year.

Reading Assignment:

Select three books to read over the summer months, complete one reading journal each week and complete one book project for one of the three books that you have read.  You must read for 45 minutes per day, including weekends.  You will find journal questions, recommended summer reading list and the book project format attached.

**The top 50 students who pass the most I-Ready lessons, complete their weekly reading journals and one books project will be invited to a celebration in September.
