The Conduit Corridor Plan Kickoff Workshops

The Conduit Corridor Plan Kickoff Workshops, hosted by the NYC Department of Transportation (NYC DOT), invite community members to learn about the planning process and help identify both challenges and opportunities along the Conduit Corridor. The goal is to gather public input and ensure community voices shape the future of this important transportation route.
There are two options for participation.
The in-person workshop will take place on Tuesday, June 10th, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at Robert H. Goddard JHS 202, located at 138-30 Lafayette Street, Ozone Park, NY 11417.
The virtual workshop will be held on Thursday, June 12th, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and interested participants must register online at nyc.gov/ConduitCorridor to receive the Zoom link.

SHSAT Goes Digital – Free Online Seminar

SamSchool is offering a comprehensive, interactive, and engaging online SHSAT summer prep course for rising 8th and 9th grade students. The course is conducted live on Zoom by a qualified instructor and includes over 3,000 math exercises, 200 ELA questions, and extensive reading passages. Students will also complete two full-length practice exams to simulate the test environment and boost readiness.
28 sessions from Friday, June 13 at 7:30PM to August 21, 2025.
In addition to live classes, students are expected to study at home for 2–3 hours after each session to reinforce their learning and build confidence.

The Community Health Fair: This free, family-friendly event aims to provide health screenings, resources, and community education. It's part of a larger summer series focused on improving health awareness and access.

The Sickle Cell Awareness Foundation Corp, in collaboration with Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, invites the community to a Day of Community Action through a Symposium on Sickle Cell Disease. This event aims to raise awareness, encourage testing, and foster dialogue among individuals and families impacted by sickle cell disease. The theme, "Know Your Status – Get Tested", emphasizes the importance of early detection and community engagement.
Attendees will hear from experts and advocates covering a variety of important topics, including innovative therapies and clinical trials, patient advocacy and mental health, global health perspectives, and genetics, education, and public policy.
