EUREKA MATH/ENGAGE NY
At Village Academy, i-Ready Classroom Mathematics pairs high academic expectations with an inclusive, supportive environment where every student can thrive. Through student-centered inquiry and collaborative problem-solving, working through real-world tasks together, not just formulas on a page, students build the critical thinking and reasoning skills of confident mathematicians. Multiple entry points and purposeful scaffolds meet the needs of all our learners, while authentic, challenging tasks build perseverance. By valuing student thinking and celebrating growth, i-Ready Classroom Mathematics prepares students for success in high school, college, and career, every step along their “Path of Success.”
ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS
The Teachers College Reading and Writing Project (TCRWP) is an approach to literacy instruction for students in elementary and middle schools with two primary goals: to improve students’ reading and writing, and to help children become lifelong, confident readers and writers who display agency and independence through work with teachers, collaboration with peers, and independent work.
SOCIAL STUDIES
The New York City K-8 Scope and Sequence is a comprehensive resource that integrates national standards, the New York State Social Studies Core Curriculum (content, concepts, key ideas, understandings and performance indicators) and the NYS K-8 Social Studies Framework. Each yearly course of study is organized around a suggested time frame for core content guided by essential questions.
SCIENCE
Amplify Science is a science curriculum that blends hands-on investigations, literacy-rich activities, and interactive digital tools to empower students to think, read, write, and argue like real scientists and engineers. It is designed to spark our elementary students’ interest and empower them to ask more questions, think more critically, and generate innovative ideas.
TECHNOLOGY
The technology club helps with technology repairs around the school and acts as a place for students to practice and perfect their technology skills. In class students use Minecraft for education and Scratch which allows for block coding.

Humanities
At Village Academy, our HMH Humanities curriculum integrates reading, writing, discussion, and inquiry into learning experiences that reflect our diverse school community. Through culturally responsive texts, students connect their own identities and experiences to the world around them, building strong reading, writing, and communication skills along the way. With purposeful scaffolds and regular opportunities for academic discourse, from Socratic seminars to written analysis, every learner is supported in becoming a confident reader, writer, and thinker.
